Murdo Macdonald, our Interim Moderator is on annual leave this week, so Eleanor is leading worship in Blantyre St. Andrew’s this morning.

MONDAY 1st JULY, 2024

HOLIDAY CLUB – Day 1: The club will run from 09:30a.m. until 12 Noon.  We are delighted to present another – ‘Creation and stories from the Bible’.  All children of Primary School Age are invited to attend – Registration forms can be downloaded from the Church Website – www.newwellwynd.org.uk

 

TUESDAY 2nd JULY 2024 –

HOLIDAY CLUB – Day 2: The club will run from 09:30a.m. until 12 Noon.  We are delighted to present another – ‘Creation and stories from the Bible’. 

 

WEDNESDAY 3rd JULY 2024 -

HOLIDAY CLUB – Day 3: The club will run from 09:30a.m. until 12 Noon.  We are delighted to present another – ‘Creation and stories from the Bible’. 

There is no DELVE in at 12 Service this week.  The next Delve in at 12 will be held on Wednesday 7th August, 2024

 

THURSDAY 4th JULY 2024

HOLIDAY CLUB – Day 4: The club will run from 09:30a.m. until 12 Noon.  We are delighted to present another – ‘Creation and stories from the Bible’. 

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Jessie Boyd will take place in the church at 2:30p.m. and thereafter to Holytown Crematorium for 3:30p.m..

 

FRIDAY 5TH JULY 2024 - 

HOLIDAY CLUB – Day 5: The club will run from 09:30a.m. until 12 Noon.  We are delighted to present another – ‘Creation and stories from the Bible’. 

The SNACK BAR is CLOSED during JULY and re-opens on Friday 2nd  AUGUST, 2024 

The NEARLY NEW is CLOSED during JULY/AUGUST and re-opens on Friday 16th AUGUST, 2024.

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Martha Blair will take place at Holytown Crematorium at 1:30p.m..

 

SUNDAY 7th JULY 2024 –

The first of our joint services with the congregations of Jackson & St. Columba’s takes place at 11:00a.m. in JACKSON PARISH CHURCH.  This service will be led by Rev. Kay Gilchrist, Minister of Jackson. 

DOOR / WELCOME TEAMS WILL BE SUPPLIED BY THE HOST CONGREGATION.

Please support this venture – All WELCOME.

FOODBANK DONATIONS -

Our collections for the foodbank will be suspended for a couple of weeks when we meet with our friends from Jackson & St. Columba’s Churches.  For our return on Sunday 21st July, the following items are urgently required  - tinned meat, tinned fish and tinned vegetables.

JOINT SUMMER SERVICES

As part of the Mission Plan Grouping, the Kirk Session has agreed to participate in joint summers services with the congregations of Jackson and St. Columba’s during the month of July as follows:-

CHRISTIAN AID

The ‘bread and cheese’ lunch held after worship on Sunday, 23 June 2024 raised the sum of £718.40 for Christian Aid. 

£334 of the sum raised was Gift Aided which will mean a further £83 for Christian Aid. 

Thanks to all who supported the event, together with those who made it happen.

AIRDRIE ACADEMY – Father’s Day Gift Appeal

Mrs. Lynn Carlin, Home Economics and Support teacher has emailed to say a BIG “Thank-you” to those in the congregation who supported the above appeal.  As a result of all donations received from chaplaincy partners, the appeal managed to provide some 90 Father’s Day gift bags.

SITUATIONS VACANT:

Following a recent meeting of the Communications Group, we are looking for help in a couple of areas:

NEWSLETTER SUB-EDITOR:  This role is to assist George Randall, Editor to collate and collect articles from groups for inclusion within the Newsletter.  If you are interested and wish to know more of what the job might entail, please contact George whose details can be found on the Newsletter 

SOCIAL MEDIA:  The Congregation has accounts with Facebook and Instagram.  At the moment, these are updated by Eleanor.  In an effort to improve our Facebook and Instagram presence going forwards, the group are looking for one or two people to help upload posts etc. related to the congregation and groups.  If you have skills in this area and are interested in finding out more information – please speak to Eleanor in the first instance.
